Application Platform

.NET

Production .NET / C# delivery for enterprise back-ends, ASP.NET Core APIs, and Windows-aligned estates.

Delivery depth

Production .NET delivery across line-of-business platforms, regulated industry back-ends, and Microsoft-aligned enterprise estates

OVERVIEW

Why .NET, where it fits.

.NET is one of Intellectual's primary application platforms for enterprise back-ends, especially in Microsoft-aligned estates. ASP.NET Core APIs, Entity Framework Core data access, modular monoliths, and event-driven systems on top of Azure Service Bus or Event Hub.

Our .NET work tends to land in environments that have a heavy Microsoft estate already — Azure as the cloud, Active Directory or Entra ID for identity, SQL Server or Azure SQL for relational data, and the broader Microsoft developer toolchain. We deliver new applications, modernisation programmes (Framework → Core), and the integration patterns that come with both.

Where it fits naturally: line-of-business application back-ends, regulated platforms that need strong-typed contracts and rich observability, internal admin systems with predictable enterprise SLA expectations, and integration consumers that need to participate in a wider Microsoft estate.

HOW WE USE IT

Delivery patterns we apply.

The engagement patterns Intellectual repeatedly delivers on .NET, drawn from real programmes.

Fig TS.DOT.A.NET — Delivery Patterns
[DOT.1]

ASP.NET Core API architecture

Minimal APIs or controller-based MVC, OpenAPI documentation, FluentValidation, OAuth 2.0 / OIDC integration (Entra ID, IdentityServer), and the API governance layer that makes them safe to expose.
[DOT.2]

Entity Framework and data layer

EF Core domain modelling, migration discipline, query performance, and the back-end patterns that hold up under realistic enterprise data volumes (and audit requirements).
[DOT.3]

Modernisation from .NET Framework

Framework → Core / .NET 8+ modernisation: project-system migration, dependency triage, packaging changes, and the strangler-fig pattern for systems too large to move in one cut.
[DOT.4]

Event-driven .NET

Azure Service Bus, Event Hub, or MQ-based event-driven .NET services. MassTransit or built-in messaging, idempotency patterns, dead-letter handling, and integration with the broader integration estate.
[DOT.5]

Observability and operations

OpenTelemetry instrumentation, Application Insights / Azure Monitor / Datadog integration, structured logging (Serilog), health probes, and the operational handover the platform team can run.
