The mandate

You will build and own production integration flows under the supervision of senior architects, learning the discipline of patterns that survive — idempotency, schema enforcement, replayability — by applying them in real estates with real consequence. Strong engineers grow into senior architects through this track; weak engineers leave, because the work is exacting and the bar is enforced. If you want a place where the seniors actually mentor, this is the role.

Responsibilities

  • Implement integration flows on IBM webMethods (Integration Server, Trading Networks) and Apache Kafka
  • Apply integration patterns under senior review: idempotency, validation at the boundary, dead-letter handling
  • Participate in design reviews; learn architecture by being challenged on your designs
  • Own observability for the flows you build — dashboards, alerts, runbook entries
  • Contribute to internal reusable libraries; raise the bar of the codebase as you grow into it

Requirements

  • 4+ years on enterprise integration with hands-on webMethods or comparable iPaaS exposure
  • Strong Java / Spring fundamentals or equivalent JVM language experience
  • Familiarity with at least one event-streaming platform (Kafka preferred)
  • Genuine appetite for production ownership — observability, on-call rotation, root-cause analysis
  • Clear communicator: code reviews, design docs, incident write-ups

What you'll be asked

Tell us about an integration flow you built that broke in production. What was the failure mode, what was the root cause, and what pattern would you apply in advance now to prevent that class of failure?

The application form below asks this question. Concrete, specific answers move forward; generic answers don't.
